Paris - The City
Overview

The Louvre
Situated in the heart of the city, it is located on the right bank of the Seine in the first arrondissement. The Louvre museum is embedded in the Louvre palace, originally constructed as a shield in the 12th century under Philip ii. Fragments of the fortified house are still visible at the foot of the museum till date. The museum was launched on 10 August 1793 with the display of various paintings, most of which are royal and seized properties.
The Disneyland Paris
Formerly known as Euro Disney Resort, Disneyland Paris is an entertaining resort centre located at Marne-la-Vallee. It is situated east of Paris and it is one the most visited resort centres in Europe that is about 4,800 acres and covers two parks, a magnificent gulf, hotels, entertainment hall, dining and a shopping mall. It belongs to Euro Disney s.c.a, under which Walt Disney owns little stake. It is the second busiest Disney park in the world.
Arc de Triomphe
Arc de Triomphe de l’etoile is a well-known statue in Paris. It is a building that honours those who fought and died for France in the Revolutionary and Napoleonic wars. It is located in the heart of palace Charles de Gaulle, at the western end of the Champs-Elysees. The structure stands 50m high, 45m wide and 22m deep. It is a monument to behold with the eyes.
Les Invalides
Known as l’hotel national des Invalides, Les Invalides is a sophisticated edifice in the 7th arrondissement of Paris. It is a building that portrays the military history of France. It is a site to visit if you want to know more about the military history of France.
Palace of Versailles
This is another intriguing place to visit whenever the thought of France comes to your mind. It is located about 20km south-east of Paris. Palace of Versaille used to be a country village and was the centre of political power in France until the royal family was forced to move to the capital.
Notre Dame de Paris
Notre Dame de Paris is a gigantic cathedral built by the Catholics in the time past. It is located in the eastern part of Ile de la cite of the fourth arrondissment of paris. Known as one of the most magnificent church in the world, it serves as a parish that contains the office of the archbishop of paris. It is the first building in the world to use buttress.
Jardin de Luxembourg
Also known as Luxembourg garden, Jardin de Luxembourg was formed by Marie de Medici, the widow of King Henry iv of France in 1612. It is located in the sixth arrondissement of Paris. The garden extends over a large expanse of land and contains beautiful features such as flowerbeds, tree-lined promenades and lawns that are pleasing and fascinating to behold.
Palais Garnier
Palais Garnier, an opera house, built with a capacity of about 1,979 seats took up to fourteen years for it to be completed as a building. It used to call Salle de Capucines due to its position on the Boulevard des Capucines in the 9th arrondissement of Paris. Undoubtedly, it is the most famous of all opera house in the world.
Place de la Concorde
Talking about public squares, place de la Concorde is one of the largest public squares not only in France but the world. It is located in the eighth arrondissements of Paris. The palace was built by the creative ideas of the Egyptians and decorated with hieroglyphics exalting the reign of the pharaoh Ramesses ii.
Centre Georges Pompidou
